In Kindergarten, Mrs. Mason’s class started a pumpkin project based learning unit. They went and picked pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. They used their 5 senses to learn about their pumpkins. They also did an experiment to see if the pumpkins sink or float. Such a fun way to learn about pumpkins!

All students will enter through the front doors again this year unless they are bus students. DROP OFF: We will continue to use the drop off zone on the South side of the school this year. Some tips that will help ensure the safety of our students.  ·      Do not stop in the street to drop students off. ·      Please travel from East to West on 12th Street ·      Pull over to the curb to drop off your student(s) in the DROP OFF ZONE. (Marked by cones) ·      When entering Drop Zone, please pull as far to the West as possible so people can pull in behind you.  ·      If you will be entering the school or if you need to take extra time to unload your students please park in the spaces provided in the EAST parking lot.  ·      We ask students not be dropped off on the south side of 12th Street; this will eliminate the dangers of students crossing the busy street. PICK UP: Kindergarten/T1 will dismiss out the South East doors. First Grade will dismiss out the North doors. Second Grade will dismiss out the North East Doors. Please park to pick up your child.

We are glad to offer the shuttle bus this year for our students. Remember all passengers on public transportation are required to wear a mask . Note that the first bus at North is not for our kids at West.

It’s been a busy week at West at our summer learning program. These second graders are busy planting seeds to be transplanted into the garden at North. Each grade also planted and is caring for a planter of flowers.
