Yesterday the entire 4th Grade was invited to Steever Park to help plant a tree for Arbor Day.

5th grade students got to launch rockets this week! They have been following the scientific method to research and design a rocket out of a 2 liter bottle. Next, students will modify the design of their rocket and then will relaunch in 2 weeks to see if theirs can fly higher! 🚀

Today we celebrated April’s North Stars winners! Students enjoyed Subway Lunch Packs. A big THANKS to our local American Implement for their generous donation to help recognize our shining stars!

6th graders are hard at work on their showcase night project. Mark your calendars for May 14th from 2:30 to 5:30 to come view all of North’s amazing projects!

Students enjoyed their “Book Tasting” during their Wednesday rotations in library yesterday. Students got to read short snippets of the book and then had to fill out a menu for the book! Students are excited to check out these awesome books!

Mrs. Heiter’s 3rd grade class presented at the school board meeting last night about their Greenhouse Project. Students were challenged to find shelving for the Greenhouse, and then had to ask for funding for the project! They did a fantastic job and the shelves are on their way! Good job kids! We are all excited to use the Greenhouse as an outdoor classroom!

Sixth graders brought cereal boxes to school and used them for a project where they found surface area and volume. Then they had to convert pounds to ounces and find other examples of math from their box.

Mrs Collett’s 5th grade class has been reviewing for math assessments by playing “Football Frenzy”! Students answer questions, and each question is worth a different number of yards. Students move the number of yards they get correct. When students get to a line called “Kick It”, they have the opportunity to punt a paper football into a goal to earn extra yards. The student with the most touchdowns at the end WINS! How fun!

Come check out the 4th grade Wax Museum this Friday! Everyone is welcome to come!

6th graders noticed the sun halo today at recess. Students were surprised to find it is caused by ice crystals in the cirrus clouds that they learned about earlier this year.

North School Staff members competed in a coloring contest this week! Over 30 staff members participated, and then the students voted for the winners! It was a fun way to relieve stress, add positivity, and to work on some team building for the staff members!
