
Goodland Senior Erin Baughman placed 1st at the state level for the VFW Young Patriots Art Show with her clay sculpture of the Eagle titled “Guardian of the Redwoods.” Now her work will be sent on to compete Nationally in Washington, DC! Amazing work Erin!

New record boards are up in the weight room! Our records are certainly not "all time" because of the limited scope of data that GHS has, so if you know anyone with binders full of past weight room data we would love to take them off of your hands! 🏋️

Updates from the FHSU art show! Jae Laughlin took 1st with her pie sculpture “A Slice of Whimsy.” Eloise Hildebrand took 2nd with her piece SAMO-Inspo, and Jae Laughlin got 3rd with her “Rivet and Repeat”. We have ton of honorable mentions as well!

Congratulations Cowboys!! What a great day in Norton!!


Yesterday,the Goodland High School Band traveled to Oakley to perform at the KSHSAA State Large Group Music Festival. All three judges gave the GHS Band a rating of II "Excellent"!


FFA has a fantastic day at Livestock Judging! Greenhands were second as a team. Brooklyn was 3rd overall greenhand. Justin was 4th overall greenhand.
Senior team was 1st overall. Kaelyn was high overall individual. Joseph was 4th overall individual. And we also had 3rd overall senior team.
Great work crew!


The JV golf took 3rd place as a team in Oberlin tournament! Treighton Hoss shot an 88 (8th overall) and Brody Schlosser shot a 92 (10th overall). Great work fellas!


Earlier this week GHS Art students entered in the Young Patriots art show!
Julie Clavijo, sophomore, took 1st place in 2-d with her "Statue of Liberty". Paige Fulwider took 2nd place with her "Crimson Walls, Blue Legacy". Jae Laughlin took 3rd with her Molly the riveter/ Warhol mashup. And Erin Baughman took 1st for 3D with her sculpture, "Guarding the Redwoods.
Erin’s art and Julie’s art will now compete at the state level. If they win there, there is a chance we could go to Washington DC!






Cowboy Baseball will be making up their games with the Buffalos from Garden City on Monday the 14th here in Goodland at 3:00 Mountain Time. Go Cowboys!!!

Due to lack of number with a couple of the schools involved, JV baseball scheduled for here in Goodland on Saturday the 12th has been cancelled.

Great start to the season with a third place finish at Buffalo Dunes!!

Included as part of her recognition as a Kansas Governor's Scholar Award Recipient, Maddy Murray chose to recognize Mr. Robert Shaner as her 2025 Teacher of Influence! Congratulations to both Maddy and Mr. Shaner for their academic effort through the years at GJSH!
